INTERNATIONAL
We specialise in multi-jurisdictional transactions. We have a global
network of legal contacts to call upon. Our size means that our team can
act efficiently and economically whether the deal is big or small. We manage
whatever legal support may be required, both here and abroad, so that our
clients can expect succinct, constructive advice through a single point
of contact.
Recent examples of our transactions include:
- The cross-border joint venture arrangements between a major Japanese
carrier and its port agents. Countries involved so far include: Belgium,
Italy, Finland, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Spain, Portugal and Turkey.
- Funding and ship sale and purchase arrangements between Singaporean,
Russian and Cypriot parties, engaged in the “Sakhalin II”
oil and gas exploration project.
- Advising on the acquisition of a German group of companies (GmbHs
and KGs) engaged in the heavy-lift business.
- Advising on co-operation and pooling arrangements between English,
Singaporean and Japanese carriers in connection with the restructuring
of their vessel owning/management operations.
- Advising a Korean shipping company on its standard terms and conditions
for multi-modal transport.
- Setting-up overseas representative offices, most recently in Istanbul
and Russia.
