MFB Sponsors Greek Women's Rugby

MFB is delighted to support the Athenian Women's Rugby League Tri-Series 2024 - 25. We have strong links with Greek Rugby through our own Adam Vrahnos who is proud to have played for the national side.

A statement from Greek Rugby League said, "Rugby League is an amateur sport in Greece that has been steadily growing in recent years.  In 2019 the first national women's team was formed and that kick-started momentum for the women's game.  The 2024-25 season will feature 3 Athens-based teams and there are a further 3 teams in various parts of Greece already building their squads with the intention of joining the 2025-26 competition.

The MFB sponsorship deal has come at a critical time as it will ensure we have extra resource at our disposal to ensure the sport (women's teams in particular) continues with its steady and sustainable growth.  Our national women's team went close at the recent World Cup qualifiers and we are determined now to go as far as possible in the qualifiers for the 2028 World Cup."
