Andy is a transactional marine lawyer and recognised expert in ship and yacht sale and purchase. Andy has particular experience in assisting on high-profile fleet acquisitions and disposals, in addition to every other conceivable form of S&P involving every vessel and yacht type, from new build projects to recycling and scrap sales, as well as distressed, judicial and business sales. He assists clients with ship and other asset-based financing and leasing arrangements, as well as ship and yacht building and refit, and has growing expertise in the offshore wind sector. Andy acts for a full spectrum of clients encompassing several of the world’s largest ship owners and operators, including some in government ownership as well as intergovernmental organisations. His technical skills and contacts means that he is often relied upon as a trouble-shooter, and to accompany clients as they do business in jurisdictions around the world.

Andy also has broad contentious maritime law experience, encompassing the full range of contractual disputes arising in relation to the international carriage of goods by sea, as well as from marine casualties. He has developed specific expertise in handling disputes arising under contracts for the sale and purchase of vessels, including distressed and judicial sales.
