Mark Seward graduated with an honours degree in Law from University College London. He initially qualified as a barrister and joined MFB as a partner in 2007.

Mark handles a wide range of matters relating to international trade and transportation, with particular emphasis on advising on and handling litigation and arbitration arising out of charterparty and bill of lading contracts. These include bad bunker and all manner of defence claims and P&I claims, with particular emphasis on the Eastern European Market, where Mark acts for owners, operators and traders.

In Chambers UK 2015 Directory Mark is listed as a Notable Practitioner and sources note that 'he works incredibly hard, is bright and sees a good commercial settlement at an early stage". He is also a recommended lawyer and a leading individual in The Legal 500 2022 rankings.
