Nico qualified in 2011 with a leading London shipping firm; he joined MFB in January 2021.

He specialises in dry shipping disputes and cargo claims, acting for owners, charterers, traders and their respective insurers. He also advises on sanctions.
Nico has considerable experience in arbitration, including cases involving early redelivery, crane breakdowns, underperformance, off-spec bunkers, laytime and demurrage, off-hire and the Inter-Club Agreement.
He has given talks to insurers and ship owners on issues including unsafe ports, voyage charterparty issues, misdelivery, Hague Rules package limitation, the decision in Volcafe, contractual interpretation and handling cargo claims.
He is a fluent French speaker and a keen cyclist and runner.
