Stephen started his career at sea with the Royal Fleet Auxiliary as a deck cadet, experiencing many ship types and interesting world events, culminating in sailing as Master of Fast Ferries across the Dover Straits.

Making the move ashore in 2006, he first started with Marine Surveying before becoming established in Ship Management and Operations.  He has been with DFDS A/S for the past 16 years in the Marine Standards Department, acting as DPA and CSO to RO-PAX and RO-RO vessels of several flags, conducting ISM Audits, Compliance and Safety Management, and Casualty Investigation.

Stephen has also been very active in the wider marine industry, participating in several committees and forums, primarily focused on Ship and Seafarer Safety.
